PLYMOUTH DUSTER 383 - FULLY RESTORED VERY RARE, VERY FAST !!
Plymouth, part of Chrylser, launched the Duster in late 1969. A mid-size coupe based on the Valiant it was designed to fill the slot left by the Barracuda. Although smaller and less expensive than the Charger or Challenger it was no less effective and built when Chryslers commitment to raw power and speed was firm – a “340” Duster was tested by “Car and Driver” in 1970 at 120mph and 0-60 in 6.2 seconds.
This is a 1969 Duster running a 383 (6300cc) engine. Mechanically and cosmetically, this car is A1 thanks to a no expense spared, bare shell re-fit in the States a few years ago. The paint job is unique in blue green flip with purple and blue swirling flames through the front of the car and it rides on custom built wheels.
The 383 Mopar was fully re-built and boasts a “choppy” cam, Holley double-pumper with Edelbrock manifold, custom headers, MSD ignition pack and coil, Taylor leads and Cool Craft aluminium radiator. The interior was fully re-trimmed and there is a custom wheel, extra gauges and an expensive B&M shifter.
On the road, this Plymouth is well-sorted and very quick. It starts instantly, stays cool and is capable of being perfectly docile round town if you allow it!
Offered for sale here on behalf of our customer at a fraction of the build cost, this is a rare American muscle car that attracts huge attention at shows or on the road.
