1970 Mercury Montego MX 2-door hardtop in beautiful Medium Blue Metallic, blue interior, chrome Magnum 500 wheels w/spinners, and hide-away headlights. Show-quality, no-rust car with only 45,054 actual miles and only one of 41 produced with the big N-code engine. The 429 engine is factory stock with only a carburetor change and distributer replacement from factory original (both original items are included with the car). Brand new dual FlowMasters. Starts immediately, runs perfectly on premium pump, and there are no mechanical issues; no smoke, no leaks, no noises. Runs hard through the rev range and runs like a muscle car should. With 10.5:1 compression, 360 horsepower, and 486 lb.ft. of torque; this is factory Ford high-performance. The heavy-duty C6 automatic shifts perfectly and the factory 3.00 9" rearend provides strong acceleration while providing relaxing high speed cruising. Power steering and power disc brakes makes driving safe & effortless.

Lovely medium blue interior with no wear and the factory optional Brougham package. The factory bench seats are flawless and the carpets are excellent. Perfect interior door panels and headliner. A small crack in the factory steering wheel rim at 9:00 is the only flaw but is very minor. All instruments work correctly as do the hide-away headlights, horn, turn signals, wipers, etc. The factory AM/FM radio (nonworking) is still in place. Factory air conditioning; blows ice cold. Excellent dash with no cracks & no warping. All seat belts are present and in excellent condition. Very clean interior.

Incredible body with no dents, no dings, no waves, and all original body panels. No rust and the underside is still in factory primer gray. This California car has obviously never seen winter weather or salt and its condition is incredible (see the underside photos). The paint is correct Medium Blue Metallic base/clear done to show standards several years ago and is absolutely flawless. Original chrome in excellent condition. The body side moldings are factory options and are listed on both the Marti Report and factory window sticker. Factory hide-away headlights operate smoothly and look great. Optional three-pod tail lights. Dual side mirrors. Excellent glass and all windows operate smoothly. Excellent weatherstripping, window whiskers, and trunk molding. Excellent chrome Magnum 500 wheels with spinners fitted with new raised-white-letter Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 radials. The trunk contains the original spare tire & jack assembly. Just professionally detailed including machine polishing and a hand wax; turnkey ready for cruises and shows. Extremely nice driving car; cruises effortlessly at 75 mph and goes straight down the highway. Has the factory Cross-Country Ride Package, extra sound insulation, & deluxe interior trim (all on the window sticker) that provides a greater comfort level. The miles are actual at 45,054. One of only 43 Montego 429s made (2 were 4-speeds, 41 were 429 automatics) and one of only 3 known to still exist according to the registry.

 Documentation includes the Marti Report, window stickler from Sierra Lincoln-Mercury in Fullerton, California, the owner's manual, and a photo album documenting the bare-metal total restoration. Exceptionally nice, very rare air-conditioned muscle car.
