1960 AUTOBIANCHI BIANCHINA 500 CAR FOR SALE
Autobianchi emerged from the rubble of World War II in the mid-Fifties building specialized versions of Fiat's resurgent 500 ranging from sporty convertibles to practical hatchbacks and even small box vans. Based on the 500's rear-mounted two-cylinder 479cc 15hp engine, 4-speed transaxle, floor pan and suspension Autobianchi is known for its innovative design and cheeky presentation. An Autobianchi Bianchina Trasformabile appeared in the 1963 production of 'The Pink Panther' driven by Robert Wagner -- while wearing a gorilla suit. The best known model is the Bianchina Cabriolet with framed door windows and a fabric roof that folds down behind the rear seats, as is this example. A 1960, it is presented in red, with red and white vinyl upholstery and interior trim and a white folding roof. Nicely restored , it has red steel wheels, whitewall tires, red carpets and a thoroughly detailed engine compartment. It has been comprehensively restored including new top and chrome and has great eye appeal.
