1960 MGA 1600 Roadster
Chassis No. GHNL82466
Engine No. 16GA/U/3805
The 1955 introduction of the sleek, envelope-bodied MGA Roadster certainly shocked some purists, but marquee enthusiasts received an exciting preview. Prior to its official launch at Frankfurt, three aluminum-bodied prototypes were entered at Le Mans. As a result, the MGA was launched with a solid competition pedigree, ensuring its acceptance in the market and the United States in particular, where the bulk of production was destined.
Finished in red livery with black interior, the MGA 1600 offered here remains a largely original Roadster other than older paintwork and mechanical necessities. Ready to drive as is, or makes a suitable base for restoration. Accessories include all weather equipment with additional full tonneau cover, Smiths heater, wind wings, luggage rack, workshop manual and vintage white walls mounted on painted steel wheels with chrome beauty rings and hubcaps.
Excellent for all around fun and enjoyment, this particular example represents one of the most desired post-war MG midgets and truly embodies the essence of British motoring!
