Description
1956 AC Aceca-Ford
This car was registered in June of 1956 to its' first owner, the world famous motorsports photographer Louis Klementaski. Originally an AC engined example, the car has a very nice file of history going back to at least 1961.
In the late '90's it was purchased by the highly respected restorer Nigel Dawes who commenced a complete, bare chassis rebuild with the intention from the outset of producing an immaculately prepared competition car. A large photo album documents the work involved. Mr. Dawes was persuaded to sell the car once the body restoration had been completed and it then went to well known race car builder Roger Dowson in Silverstone to have the mechanical aspects of the restoration completed. All invoices for this work remain on file, including dyno printouts showing the Ford 2.6 engine's power output at 172BHP. Once completed, in 2005, the car was 'shaken-down' on three sprint events, recording two wins and a second. Since then the car has seen only sparing road use.
