The Car is equipped with Retro / FM Radio with Ipod Connectivity and of course Power Steering with additional “anti Theft Imobiliser ” The Rear Differential is a “new Unit” with 2,88 :1 ratio Final Drive from the XJ40.
Possibly the very best & most Desirable upgrade available for these Series 111 cars, Cruising & Autobahn Performance virtually unsurpassed for a V12 from this era.(*the Original / reconditioned Differential ) is supplied to the new owner with the car.
This V12 has covered a mere 10247 Miles since the Restoration was complete.The car has the Most Comprehensive supporting History File we have ever seen.This includes all supporting Hand Books, Complete Stamped service records,with a Beautifully Bound Book Record, detailing every possible aspect of the Restoration. The Photo record,is not only Complete, but includes images of the highest quality which depict perfectly, the quality & depth of work painstakingly done during Restoration.Suffice to say Costs to date have been Huge in Restoring this car ,the audit trail accounting for more than €80,000 within the last 3 years.
The Car was stripped of all components & all the bodywork was taken back to bare metal,all panels were checked for alignment & corrosion before any repairs were carried out.
All the Floor Panels were seam welded as opposed to the original spot welding for added strength & longevity.
The Engine frame was Crack tested as part of a full & detailed inspection,as these areas are critical,as they carry the main weight of the V12 Power Plant & form an integral part of the cars Structure.
All Chrome was Shaped & Dry Fitted before being sent for re-Plating.
All Body Panels were re-fitted prior to Painting, such that finished Panel Gaps are second to none.
The inside of the Car Body was painted 1st then treated with clear Waxoyl—-although never seen, these panels have had the same level of attention as all exterior Body Panels.
The Paint finish on this car is the eptome of a Top Level Restoration.Almost 200 Hours were Billed in the paint shop Primer was applied before being Flatted, Paintwork left to Sink ! 5 base Color Coats applied, between every coat,painstaking flatting off to ensure Blemishes were removed.
The Finishing Process of Polishing has given a finish “Mirror Like” arguably several steps better than as the car left the Factory in 1973. Our Detailing Work on this Car has been minimal !
The Engine Presents Superbly fully reflecting recent work,as to be expected Engine starts & Runs Smoothly with No faults at all.
Everything on this car is totally optimal in performance! Heater, Wind Deflection, Hood Fit & all importantly Panel Gaps, all absolutely Perfect.
The Rear Suspension is Overhauled,all components stripped & Powder Coated
The Car is Fitted with uprated Brakes Callipers & Pads. Adjustable Koni shock Absorbers for increased comfort & ride. An Upgraded Polly Bush Kit replaces original rubber Bushes—Copper Nickel alloy Corrosion resistant Brake Lines with Braided Stainless steel Brake pipes ensure Optimum Braking .
Gear Box is fully re-built,with anti Vibration damper,which reduces heat soak into the Cabin of the car.
The Engine has been fully stripped and cleaned, prior to a detailed inspection of all original components. Cylinder head ,has been pressure tested & measured for dimensional accuracy prior to being re-assembled with heavy duty Springs–and all original Oil seals uprated & replaced.The rebuilt engine gives rarely paralleled smoothness with Economy for a V12 with effortless and shattering Performance.
Upon reassembly, a High Torque Starter motor has been used, the Radiator & uprated for increased efficiency & the later type Kenlow electric Cooling fan fitted. Electronic Ignition & fully uprated Ignition leads compliment all new fuel, Brakes lines,cooling Pipework.Breathing via new K& N filters.
Front Suspension, has been Stripped & Re-painted, Uprated Poly Bush kit replaces all original rubbers, adjustable Shock Absorbers with Upgraded Discs ensure a Superb Driving Car.
The Hood Frame has been meticulously checked for alignment,Powder Coated—hence a perfect fitting hood with very low Wind-noise !
The Wiring Harness through-out the Vehicle is new.
The Car went to the Trim shop after key mechanical tests were complete.
Engine is Rolling Road tuned, a full Dyno Sheet supplied with the car.
Interior Specification. Fully re Trimmed in Magnificent Dark Red. Reclining Seats with additional Lumbar Support. Mohair Hood & Tonneau Cover. Retractable Seat Belts with Chrome Leaper Buckles.
3 Spoke Wood Rim Moto Lita Steering Wheel.
Leather Trimmed Center Console & rear Quarters.
Hidden modern FM Radio system,with IPOD Connectivity, Controlled by Period Looking Head Unit. Fully refurbished Instruments,with fully re-conditioned Burr Walnut Dashboard. High Quality Hide has been used throughout the car,to achieve outstanding,award winning level of Trim Finish all Bespoke & hand made.
This Car when 1st built at Browns Lane in Coventry was exported to New York.Sold to its 1st owner & resided in Colorado until 1989. -In 1993 the car returned to Europe where the ( Title Trail) clearly shows Two Owners in Germany & clearly records the detailed Restoration outlined.
Following more than 1600 hours of specialist Labor Costs exceeding €85,000 the car is re-borne with a full lease of life ! Arguably in better condition than in 1973 as it 1st left Browns Lane.
