Motodrome are pleased to offer this 1970 example of the ever-popular Land Rover Series IIa, this one an 88in petrol 7 seater, finished in a nicely patinated Green.
it’s fitted with front recovery eyes, bonnet mount for spare wheel, brand new doors, double skinned roof, rear mudflaps and towpack. Inside it has a heater, deluxe front seats and twin bench seats in the back.
Odometer reading 87000 miles with an interesting history – it was acquired by a titled owner (and ex-chairman of the BBC) in 1980, and has been in his family ever since. Apparently his wife couldn’t bear the original bronze green colour so it was resprayed to the current (either Lincoln or Eastnor) Green in 1980, and has subsequently acquired a nice patina.
Recomissioned, serviced and waxoyled in September 2013, and fitted with new doors, it’s now ready to go, and comes with MOT to September 2014 and road tax to end September 2014 too, although that’s free in the UK.
It’s full of character, has all the correct features for a late Series 2 (shallow sills, wing mounted headlamps etc) and on test run on arrival it performed really well and really put a smile on my face.
Priced to sell at £4995
