1967 MG B Roadster

This stunning Tartan Red MGB Roadster was built on the 6th – 9th February 1967 and was supplied new by Appleyard Limited, Bradford. This home market car was supplied new with wire wheels, heater, and anti-roll bar.

PWR 808E was subject of a full complete nut and bolt restoration from the 9th July 1990 to the 5th June 1991. In less than 12 months the car was taken from ‘barn find' condition to pristine, show standard and we have a forty page photographic record with the car along with a six page running report and invoice file containing over almost fifty pages. Receipts for the restoration totalled in excess of 11,000 without the majority of labour costs included. The standard of workmanship was first class and the MGB was finished off with the highest level of detail including painting of the underside of the shell and preparing the engine bay to a show standard.

We know this MGB very well having first sold the car in 2003 and more recently in 2011. Since restoration PWR 808E has covered around 12000 miles and it did have some cosmetic and mechanical work when last with us four years ago at 10,500 miles. Having being hardly used between 2003 and 2011 we replaced the clutch, fitted a re-conditioned four speed gearbox, fitted a new set of chrome wire wheels, new mohair hood and tonneau cover, new steering wheel, gear knob and front and rear bumper. We also fitted new window regulators fitted a new fuel tank, new gearbox tunnel carpet, new inner wing protectors, new rev counter and steering column bush.  

Today the MGB presents beautifully and bodyshell remains in excellent order with no signs of corrosion. Many years on since the rebuild and the paint finish is still of a top quality and the interior has been beautifully kept. The boot area is lovely, clean and tidy and the engine bay still of a superb standard. The B has an excellent engine holding very good oil pressure. On the road performance is superb, further enhanced with the Del Auto Carburettor. The overdrive comes in and out smoothly and the car is a real delight to drive and has proven completely reliable since first selling this car twelve years ago. This is a beautifully rebuilt MGB that is ready to use and enjoy without the need for any major work to be carried out. The car is on the button, presents superbly and is an absolute delight to drive.
