1968 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500

This outstanding genuine Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 has been with the same family since 1983 and the family have been meticulous with the car, never taking it out in wet weather and keeping it maintained to the highest of standards. The car was restored back in the early 1980's and has had regular use throughout summer months year on year. The Mustang has attended classic Le Mans on several occasions and has proven totally reliable for long distance touring use.

In early 2015 the Mustang has had in the region of £15,000 spent on detailed work to ensure the car is presented in top class condition. The car has been totally stripped down to a bare shell, taken back to bare metal and then fully re-painted. Various new chrome work has been purchased and fitted, a new rear windscreen fitted and all new correct GT500 stickers applied. The engine bay has been carefully prepared and detailed and the Mustang has been mechanically checked over and put through a full MOT test and as a result is now ready to use and enjoy.

On the road this car is fabulous with a top class powerful, strong V8 engine. The manual gearbox changes perfectly and the Ford has sharp brakes, steering and suspension. The car feels tight, correct and is an absoloute delight to drive. Having had the recent cosmetic work, the car presents superbly with stunning first class paintwork, an exceptional straight bodyshell and beautiful chrome. The upholstery has a delghtful, honest and aged feel to it with smart seats, carpets, door cards, headlining and dashboard.
