1989 Aston Martin

This one-owner-from-new, left-hand drive Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante has a unique and rare specification as any that has been delivered to the United States. The car was ordered from main agent Miller Motorcars of Greenwich, Connecticut and delivered on 9th August 1989 to the sole registered owner, Mr Michael Dingman, who at that time was an executive of the Ford Motor Company.

Shortly before delivery, Aston Martin Works Service upgraded the original “X Pack” engine to a full 6.3 European specification at the owner's request. This is the only car fitted with that high performance engine delivered as new to the United States.

The 'X Pack' was not approved for use in the USA by the EPA/DoT at that time so the upgrade was done unofficially. No doubt the owner's position at the Ford Motor Company, Aston Martin's owners at that time, helped smooth the way. The owner drove a mere 4,980 miles before selling the car in May 2012. The V8 Vantage Volante retains its original paint, interior trim, black Everflex top, boot cover and owner's manual, while the radio has been upgraded.

A manual transmission model finished in Cannock Black with matching leather upholstery, this car has full service history by Miller Motors and Aston Martin of New England and wants for nothing except a new owner to enjoy it.

Since back in the UK the car has now been converted to European chrome bumpers and the removal of the side markers and rear panel, to make the car even more desirable

The car has copies of the factory build sheet, service records, and original certificate of origin, registration and title. It is all European taxes paid.
