This is a matching number 283/315 Horse Power, Fuel Injection CS code currently with a single 4bbl. The FI unit was removed long before our sellers purchase. This is a late production '61, built in May and number 9,147 of 10,261 produced. Our seller has owned this beautiful Corvette for 23 years and it has traveled less than 10,000 miles during his stewardship. Cosmetically, it looks essentially as it did when he purchased it it Knoxville, Kentucky. The paint was refinished before he purchased the car, and shows age based on time, use, mileage and storage. The engine is believed to have the mileage showing on the odometer. The maintenance and improvements between 1993 and 2015 are acknowledged in a "39" item list. The Corvette has always been properly maintained and properly stored during the fall and winter months.  The rear axle is a 3.70. The radio is the original Wonderbar with FM added. There are two complete sets of wheels and tires: The original style bias ply tires are mounted on factory steel wheels with the original wheel covers (used for shows); the second set is proper size radials with chromed wheels.
