1965 Shelby

1965 Shelby Cobra finished in period correct Blue Metallic over Black interior and correct safety belts. This 1 of 1 Special Cobra was built by well known and respected Gordon Chance aka 'Teenage Tuner'. Chance was the lead Shelby American Tuner, Mechanic and crew chief from 1965-1967 on Carrol Shelby's Race Crew. Mr. Chance and his team built this special 1 of 1 car in honor the memory of Carrol Shelby. Upon completion to perfection Gordon Chance decided not to part with this car and has kept this Cobra in his private collection. In its entire lifetime with him it has ONLY traveled a low one owner proper 2,325 miles. It is titled as a 1965 Cobra, not a later year re-production unit, adding to its extreme value. This is a 1 of 1 car that was built with the same hands that built the REAL $3,000,000+ Cobra's. The period correct build is stunning, featuring the 406 Cobra V8 motor (Date Coded W-2G11 - July 11, 1962), Borg Warner 5 speed manual transmission, Jaguar rear diff, and Quick time scatter shield. Edelbrock intake/water pump, Wilwood brakes with Wilwood master cylinders, flip top style radiator exhaust duct, dual side/rear exit exhaust system with side cutoffs, roll bar, period correct wheels with polished lips and BF Goodrich tires, woodgrain steering wheel, black carpeting, and racing lap belts. Recently serviced including an oil/filter change, transmission fluid change, gear oil change, coolant flush, and brake fluid change. Included with the car is an ORIGINAL Gordon Chance book that is signed by the original Shelby team members. Included in the sale is a period correct original poster that was presented to Gordon Chance's mentor, Max Kelly, crew chief for the winning '66 Le Mans Ford GT. We were lucky enough to secure this special vehicle from Gordan Chance's family's private collection. This RARE example was BUILT by the same hands that built the real race winning cobra's, but without the $3 million dollar price tag.
