1955 Jaguar

A really excellent XK140 Roadster, which had a complete restoration some 12 years ago.

At that time every part of the vehicle was restored, the original car was dismantled and the various parts were sent to marque specialists for restoration. During restoration the car was converted to right hand drive.

The chassis was galvanised before being painted in two pack black to ensure maximum protection from the elements. The body was rebuilt using new panels as required.

All mechanical items that is the engine, suspension, rear axle and braking system have been restored to as new condition. Engine has been built to use unleaded fuel.

It has been fitted with five speed manual transmission along with a disc brake conversion to improve driveability.

Electric cooling has been fitted to the radiator plus alternator charging has been added to ensure correct cooling and battery charging at all times.

The car is currently sitting on excellent chrome wire wheels fitted with Radial tyres. There is also a second set of wire wheels available with the car which are painted body colour.

Cosmetic items such as the chrome mouldings and interior were replaced at the time of restoration. Bucket seat backs have been fitted to give the driver and passenger some lateral support and to improve leg room. A set of the standard original seat backs will also be provided to any new owner.

Just to give you some idea of the lengths that the current owner went to when restoring this car were the seat runners, which have been specially machined with precision rollers giving the smoothest front and rear movement of any XK seat that we have come across.

The car returned to the road in 2004 and since then has been used sparingly covering a little over 2000 miles. We have serviced and maintained the car for the last five plus years making sure that it remains in exceptional condition and ready to be enjoyed.
