Description

1973 Lancia Flavia 2000 HF Coupe

Lancia only ever built 1,229 Fulvia HF’s, the last in the classic Flavia Series. This was a top model, the only one equipped with Bosch fuel injection, resulting in 126hp of engine power. The design and build quality were so high and costly that Lancia apparently was not concerned about ever selling very many of these premium cars. At the time a comparable BMW cost twenty-five percent less. Today, this renders the Flavia HF even more desirable than the other, equally high performance alternatives in the Flavia Series. Of course, that this car shares stylistic similarities with a much more expensive car, the Ferrari 330GT, is also a contributing factor. The lines that Pininfarina designed for the Flavia and 330 have strong similarities, and the dashboard, for example, looks like a blatant copy of that in the 'priceless' Ferrari. And the HF’s stylish air and driving pleasure are no less for it, especially when one takes into account the price/quality ratio. There are good reasons why so many opportunistic car dealers dare to ask upwards of 50K today for a good HF, which of course is asking too much, but the fact of the matter is that until recently the HF was an undervalued classic car and thus has great potential, as do virtually all the other classic Lancia's. The model series, build quality, design refinement and technical perfection render the older Lancia one of the new discoveries of the classic world. Take this as a tip from someone in the know.
Sold new by an Italian Lancia dealer in Italy’s Bergamo region, where the car always remained and was garage stored by her three owners. To find such a car – which back then was not immediately deemed to one day become a famed classic – in such fine shape today is really remarkable. And especially in this color and with a black interior - a rarity. In any case this was a car we simply could not ignore and happily brought back with us to Lancia-loving Holland. Delivered with ‘old blue’ Dutch license plates and new MOT.
