The Chevrolet Bel Air was the greatest showcase possible for Chevrolet's Styling and Performance leadership of the North American automotive industry of the mid-to-late 1950's. The car seemed to strike a chord with the general public of the day; being heralded for it's simple, yet modern design, wide range of appearances, convenience & the wide range of factory options available for the car.

The 1957 Bel Air embodies the absolute best of 1950's era Automotive styling, as well as representing mechanical prowess of the highest order, this was the first and only year that Chevrolet offered the Fuel Injected V8 outside of it's Corvette range. Fuel Injection was, at the time, so advanced that a huge number of mechanics of the day were unable to maintain the system correctly. This further compounded the rarity of the option in question.

The car we are offering was built at the Janesville, Wisconsin plant in 1957; and was fited with the hyper rare, ultra desireable Fuel Injected V8 Engine, the Syncro Mesh manual transmission; as well as still having the original Wonderbar Radio unit and Tissue Dispenser.

To put the rarity of this vehicle into context; Chevrolet produced 1,499,685 cars in 1957. Of those 47,562 were the 2dr convertible incarnation. Of those only 68 were fitted with Fuel Injection. And of those 68 Fuel Injected models, only 39 were finished in the iconic Matador Red paint found on this vehicle.

All of these factors combined have resulted in a car that can truly claim to be a rare piece of automotive art, one can be sure that the value of these vehicles will skyrocket in coming years.
