1970 MG

Based on the MGB but totally different from the windscreen forward, this long legged cruiser powered by a mighty 2912 cc 6 cylinder engine, was due to replace the Austin Healey 3000 series. It was available as a roadster or GT with manual or automatic gearboxes. Just 4542 roadsters and 4457 GTs were built between 1967 – 1969. It featured independent front suspension with torsion bar design and uprated back axle.Top speed was given as 120m.p.h. and the 145 b.h.p. engine took the car from 0-60 in around 10 scs.

This car is fitted with a Doug Smith Motorsport engine featuring stage II gas flowed cylinder head, lightened flywheel and a competition clutch.

This car also has a tuned six branch Downton exhaust system.

Since the engine has been rebuilt it has only covered 10,000 miles and is now running on triple webers. To match this power increase the running gear and suspension have been uprated using poly bushes.
