Description
Daimler SP 2.5L HEMI v8 (Yes a 2.5L Hemi V8). Stock Aluminum heads and intake. Long history back to 60's & 70's, documentation shows originally maintained by Bert Reimschuessel in WI. Raced through 70's at Elkhart lake Road America as a streetcar with rollbar. Docs show Portland, Monterey and Westwood through 70's- 80's. This car was completely rebuilt to Vintage race specs by one of America's leading Racecar Shops in the Country; HUFFAKER-QVALE in late 90's, early 2000, $80K in receipts. Very Rare and Reliable Race car with Longtime Race History since 2000's with CSRG (Logbook)at Sears Point (milti. times), Laguna Seca, FROHC and SEBRING 12hr by Hayes Harris, Calgary, Westwood & Edmonton. Current owner has raced with the Vscca, VRG and SVRA at INDY Motor Speedway - the Brickyard, Road America, Watkins Glen (Multiple), Pitt Race (BeaverRun), Lime Rock Park (Vscca), SVRA Pocono (multiple) and Autocross. Beautiful and Very Rare & Very easy to maintain, exceptionally prepared and very reliable with over $100k of work by professional race shops into the build. I have used GMT Racing, in CT, for gearbox replacement, nut & bolt maintenance and Empsons race engines (Sept15) for current rebuild for fresh (Break in time only) motor. This car is at the Top of the SVRA Group 3 class at 2.5L displacement, runs in class with few to no other v8's. I Have NEVER driven with another Daimler, it is very rare, very reliable and a beautiful racecar. I was awarded the prestigious SVRA rookie DRIVER OF THE YEAR AWARD in 2014 for 2013 year.
