1992 MERCEDES 500E
Small-series production at Porsche!
The 500 E, incidentally, was created in close cooperation with Porsche: also based in Stuttgart, the sports car manufacturer was brought on board by Mercedes-Benz at a very early stage in order to boost the company’s own somewhat stretched development capacity.
Many don’t know that Porsche build the engine for the 3 years of the 500E production.
With its aggressive stance: 1.5 inches wider track, 0.9 inch lower profile, flared fenders, side skirts, front air-dam and wide tires, the 500 E is easily distinguished from its lesser brethren.
Because of its look, limited numbers, hand-built construction, and unique pedigree, the 500 E is already considered a “classic”, even within Mercedes-Benz.
This Mercedes 500E was well kept over the years and ready for a new home.
Do not hesitate to have the car inspected.
Anyone who does buy one Mercedes 500E, will find they have an exceptional and powerful saloon that is nevertheless extremely practical for everyday use.
Anyone in the know will already be slavering at this model designation: launched in 1990, 26 years ago, the Mercedes-Benz 500 E with V8 engine and subtly muscular body is the top-of-the-range model in the 124 model series – and has long been one of the brand’s most desirable ‘young classic’ models.
Just 10,479 units were built in the years until 1995!
