1954 Mercedes-Benz

Exterior: The Mercedes 300 where produce from 1951 until 1962 and from W186 there where 642 Convertibles built. Then 65 more of the W189. This car had an extensive restoration done here in Sweden during the years 1987-1990. After this the car has been used only as an enthusiast car on sunny days. The black paint is in a very good condition just like the chrome. All doors and panels have a very good fit and close the way they should on a Mercedes. The big soft top is also new and has a very good stretch. This is a car that gets a lot of road presence!

Interior: When you sit inside a Mercedes 300 Adenauer Convertible it is easy to understand this was one of Mercedes finest cars in the production line. The detailed chrome on the dashboard makes a perfect contrast towards the red leather. For me the best colour combination on any classic car is black with red interior and this big Mercedes W186 really comes alive when you pull the top down and you can see the bright red leather as the car is driving by. And the condition of the interior is just stunning. Every little chrome detail inside the car is just perfect, just like carpets and headliner. The beautiful time period correct radio in the centre of the dashboard.

Engine: Starts easy and runs very nice. Normal service and maintenance over the years. Normal sounds from engine, gearbox and final drive. During the restoration completed 1990 the bearings and all gaskets in the engine where replaced.

History: This Mercedes 300 W186 Cabriolet sold new here in Sweden on the 4^th of February 1954. It comes with binder showing all receipts for the restoration. The car had odometer reading 21908 in 1990 when the restoration was completed, and it is today 28300. But the car has been used every year and has been taken trough technical inspection (TUF) here in Sweden almost every year. The first owner of this car was a company by the name of Osram Electric. After this there is a full owner’s history by date and name.
